Synergy Styles - “ A fusion of movement styles and soul “
Lilah Gow is a graduate of Brent Street Performing Arts. Originally trained in classical ballet, Lilah found her true calling in improvisation/freestyle, contemporary, commercial, jazz funk, Waacking & House dance.
Training young dancers & crews, choreographing and performing in corporate/commercial work and a part of the street culture in Canberra and Sydney for many years. Her focus was then turned to the visual art of makeup artistry and has been enthralled in this world for the last 11 years. Coming back into dance Lilah has been experimenting with the importance of movement and the empowerment of expressing oneself through this medium and Breathwork.
Passionate about remembering the simple joy of dance and the importance of this art form for physical and mental health especially in youth. Since coming back to Canberra Lilah has developed Synergy Styles as a Co-Director, developing a holistic approach to movement and creating works, performed with Australian Dance Party, has been teaching at QL2 dance and learning about 5 Rhythms dance.
Stephen Gow is a teacher and dancer trained in hip hop, contemporary and acrobatics. After multiple seasons dancing with the Quantum Leap Youth Ensemble, he went on to work with international and Australian artists including, Taylor Swift, Psy, Jason Derulo, Timomatic, Ricki Lee and more. He has collaborated with Nick Power to create Compartmentalised & Cypher which toured nationally and internationally, including the Sydney Opera House, Arts Centre Melbourne, Tanz Im August (Berlin) & URB Festival (Helsinki).
He has competed in, placed and won a range of Hip Hop & Breaking battles throughout Australia & overseas most notably, World of Dance New York, R16 Bboy championships & Destructive Steps World Finals.
Steve now lives in Canberra and works as teacher, choreographer and Assistant to the Artistic Director at QL2 Dance, Co-Director of Synergy Styles and teaches at Project Beats. He share since created works for QL2’s Playhouse and Chaos seasons and has also collaborated with QL2's company in residence Australian Dance Party with them to create work for Hyper Real (NGA), Water Tight, Powering the Dance, Moving To Zero, ENERGEIA and From the Vault.
He is is a board member of the Australian Breaking Association, supporting the development on Breaking in Australia and it’s inclusion in the 2024 Olympics.
